Ian Ring and Rachel Koeman, better known as Young Wonder, are a pop-electro duo from Cork, Ireland. Premiered via Pigeons and Planes, Young Wonder’s new song Intergalactic made me stop in my tracks and listen. Their vocal instantly reminded me of a song I had heard quite a while ago and liked so much that I had played it on repeat for several weeks. I was sure it must have been the same band. Just one check of their SoundCloud account and I finally found the song I was looking for: To You - a track taken from their previous EP, Show Me Your Teeths. Two years on and Young Wonder have released Intergalactic, the new single that I am enjoying so much.

This song begins with an intergalactic vibe: it sounds void, making you feel like you are moving in galaxy clusters, until Koeman’s ethereal voice grabs your attention immediately.

True to its name, this song begins with an intergalactic vibe: it sounds void, making you feel like you are moving in galaxy clusters, until Koeman’s ethereal voice grabs your attention immediately. Intergalactic is appealing and easy on the ear, until you realise the song has ended and you are still wanting more. This latest song from Young Wonder is certainly a progression from their previous EP and yet still successfully retains their easily lovable sound. Make sure to listen to Intergalactic below.
