Szafa Polska (Polish Wardrobe) is a curatorial programme by Michał Niechaj dedicated to contemporary fashion from Poland. Its educational goal is achieved through panel discussions with designers, lectures and the first ever gallery exhibition of Polish fashion. Hosted in the BWA Design Wroclaw (one of the few national institutions in Poland focussed solely on design), the 2013 exhibition filled in the gap between fashion in the communist era and today’s design scene. Here, Łukasz Wierzbowski portrays both generations born in a democratic country and a young fashion clashing with typical social interiors.
