We are pleased to announce the launch of PETRIe's most recent digital issue – Power. The issue looks at the contemporary dynamics of power, attempting to cast new light on the intricate relationship of authority, power, and violence. Insightful articles and aesthetically engaging visual stories celebrate various forms of resistance and applaud those who push against the status quo in search of freedom.
London-based photographer Camilla Glorioso provides a visual reportage of the Women's March in Trafalgar Square, turning her lens towards the vigilant and the brave, who are moving like one against injustice, abuse, and inequality. Producer Evelyn Tsekoura and photographer Doh Lee look at the beauty and grandeur of personal strength in King of Ballet, while photographer Annie Lai and stylist Yun Nam Ho explore the tension and balance of relationships through space and body form in the editorial Quid Pro Quo.
Key features include an interview with contemporary artist Ayesha Feisal, by Veronica Mafolino, a sharp analysis of the transforming role of the artist in negotiating matters of race and gender, from contributor Astrid Scheuermann, and a look at power relations between cultural products, producers, and consumers, from Annunziata Santelli.
We hope the issue inspires and provokes you all.
