This week, PETRIe's Creative Director, Benjamin Thapa, curates the top tracks to put on your playlist.

For some time, the darkly introspective producers have defined the electronic music scene. Their fans have followed suit with upmost seriousness. However, in the past two years, London-based record label, PC Music, has been cultivating the antidote. Inspired by everything aside from seriousness, the label has spearheaded a movement that mashes together elements of K-pop, happy hardcore, Myspace gifs, sped-up vocals, air horns and Windows 95 start-up tones. Whilst it is easy to brush off the genre as tacky or disposable, the level of production is undoubtedly high. Our opening track by classically trained Danny L Harle takes us on a journey through intelligently-curated samples, crisp cut-to-cut pacing and immaculately levelled synths. The following playlist provides a small sample of the PC Music back catalogue, as well as selected tracks from associated movements.
