This week, PETRIe Editorial & Features Director, Grace Carter, curates the top tracks to put on your playlist.
PETRIe explores the sounds of reggae, a music genre that came into our public consciousness during the 1960s. Its name comes from the Jamaican phrase 'rege-rege', which means 'rags or ragged clothing'.
Considered a 'ragged' style of dance music, reggae is rooted in a number of musical styles including American R&B and contemporary Ska. Made popular by the likes of Bob Marley, reggae remains home to many talented and up-and-coming musicians.
