Desi Lazarova: What is your cocktail of choice?
Helen Lawrence: Dry Martini with a gin and lemon twist.
DL: How do you balance work with home life?
HL: Ha! It's very unbalanced at the moment. When it's a little quieter at work, I try to spend my weekends seeing friends.
DL: Your house is burning down, what do you grab?
HL: My great grandmother’s antique parasols and the photographs my dad took of my mum when she was 24.
DL: Most influential moment in your life to date?
HL: A very tough tutorial with Louise [Wilson] on the Masters [in Fashion from Central Saint Martins]. She said something to me that I think about most days at work. “It’s just a fucking sweater."
DL: Who would you say knows you best?
HL: My mum.
DL: What motivates you?
HL: Developing an idea into something real.
DL: Favourite artist/s?
HL: Phyllida Barlow and Gary Hume.
DL: Personal hero/inspiration?
HL: My two grandmothers are my heroes.
